Weekend wrap up

In-laws birthday, originally uploaded by Hungover in Heels.

Haven't posted in a bit so thought I would do a quick round up of everything I wore this weekend.

I really liked this first outfit, I wish I had a few more pics of it, oh well. I wore it for a birthday celebration at a steak house for my (soon-to-be) Father-in-law.
I had the smallest cut of meat and was still stuffed. I did start the night off with my favorite drink of choice. Dirty, Ketel One, martinini: up.

Saturday was a bit of a lazy day. Sitting around the apartment and recovering from the night before. To get some sun, my partner and I took our dog for a walk in the park, stopping for coffee on the way, natch.

Sunday was an amazing weather day for SF. We decided to take a trip over to Chrissy field and walk along the bay.

Lost in the fire, gained in the flood

Thursday night I went to see a favorite band of mine and was completely blow away by the opener: the Mynabirds. I had never heard of them before but thier music was a terrific blend of soul and retro pop .I was smitten. They also had such adorable style. I wish I had a camera with me, but alas it was empty of charge. You will have to settle for some promo shots and a song link. Lovely though, no?

And cause it's what I think I am supposed to do here. This is what I wore to the show:

Ny & Co. Dress, Gap tshirt, One Star vest.

Friday August 3rd

Friday August 3rd, originally uploaded by Hungover in Heels.

Aren’t the walls delicious? The muted tones of the restaurant exploded into this lemon lime combo when I entered the ladies. I had to share with you, reader. I hesitated on posting as the scratched mirror graffiti creates weird patterns on my face But it’s kind of fun anyway.

The restaurant we were at was in Japantown. We were having a plate of delicious tuna rolls covered in hot sauce and a plate of sashimi. My fiancé also ordered a bowl katsu-don, but I was full after the rolls so I sipped the Nigori as we waited.

Friday August 3rd

Before that we had gone to a hotel bar for happy hour. It was a date night, and we both thought it would be fun to start the evening with a few drinks. The special on beer was $3.00 so we tried the only one on tap we didn’t know. It was a Black Butte Porter, tasty and nice, but light tasting for a porter. If you like it rich you should get something else. I adored the hint of chocolate at the finish.

Originally I had planned on pairing the black lace neck blouse with a pleated skirt. Before my fiancĂ© arrived to pick me up I took our Shih Tzu for a walk and the wind almost knocked us both over. It was all I could do to keep the leash in my hand and keep my skirt down with the other. I might have given some passersby’s a show. I hope not.

Friday August 3rd

Back upstairs I switched into a pair of GAP always Skinny jeans. They don’t blow around so much.

Friday August 3rd

We decided to end the evening with some Karaoke. It was close enough and we were both feeling a little tight. I had never seen the place so empty, but usually I am there later than 9:00. They checked us into a small room at the end of the hall furthest from the front desk. Did they know about our singing?

We punched in song after song pushing just passed the hour mark, ending with a duet of “Don’t Stop Believing.” Yes, we both love Glee.

Tisci and Lea

The new 'W' has a a fun article on Riccardo Tisci, Givenchy’s 36-year-old artistic director. It talks a lot about his life and centers on his use of androgynous or gender fluid inspiration and style. Specifically it mentions LEA T his transgendered assistant and model who appeared in the Fall runway shows and add campaign.

There has been much attention on Lea T since then. A long time friend of Tisci she says, "I met Riccardo Tisci who had just graduated from Central St Martins. Little by little, we became friends. One night, he encouraged me to wear heels to a party. We went shopping for these drag queen high heels and bleached my eyebrows. It was a revelation." Aww, sort of cure. Lea is 28, has lived full time for awhile and is considering having SRS surgery soon.

Here are is a link to the W article about Tisci.
And a couple more about Lea.
